New web design for queertales.com

- by Ragnar on November 21. 2010

I’ve just finished a major overhaul of queertales.com, updating the design for both the blog and the main site. I went with a comic book theme for the design, and am pretty happy with the end result.

queertales.com new design

In addition to the new design, I’ve added a couple of new features. Now there is a thumbnail view for each comic, so you can quickly jump to any page, and a download link, so you can read the comics offline. The downloadable comics are in .cbz format, which is used by many comic book readers like Comical - CBZ and CBR reader.

You’ll find the thumbnail and download links below each comics page, along with a link to share the comic with friends through mail or various social networks. If you like my comics, please use it to share them with your friends.

There are several less obvious changes, such as a sitemap and new search engine friendly comic scaling code, which hopefully means I’ll get more readers in the future. 🙂

Turning Queertales into a Static Site

I guess the title of this post can be interpreted ironically, as queertales.com has been quite static for a few years, with rare updates from me, but that’s not really what this post is about. . . .

I’ve began working on a couple of new comics projects, a rompy sci-fi story and a dark historical fiction. Both are in very early stages of development, so I have no idea when (or if) they’ll be out, but I’ll try to keep you up to date on my progress here. . . .

David is a Funeral Director, Who Just Happens to be Gay

Phrases like that are commonly heard when discussing gay characters in fiction, but what do they really mean? On the surface they simply mean that the characters gayness is not important to the story, but if you dig a little deeper it has a more subtle and darker undertone. . . .
